Summary:
As part of the ITW Residential & Renovation Engineering team, theMechanical Engineering Internwill be responsible for furthering new product development projects ranging from early stage idea generation to product design and testing. They will work independently and on a team to produce engineering solutions to relevant problems with a common end goal.Core
Responsibilities:
Participate in product development by using engineering skills and tools such as DFMEA, DVP&R, etc. Conduct tests per relevant standards and analyze results to effectively draw conclusions and inform business decisions. Become familiar with accepted residential construction techniques Gain knowledge of customer insights/preferences to inform design decisions for new product development. Use mechanical engineering coursework/experience to come up with innovative solutions to fastener design problems. Work effectively with fellow engineers/technicians/model makers. Develop understanding of fastener prototyping and manufacturing processes to inform product design. Expected Learnings:
Solid modeling - Solidworks. Prototyping and design for manufacturing. Analytical testing Design of Experiments Job Requirements:
Rising Senior or Graduate-level (graduating 2025)pursuing adegree in Engineering or Science degree; Mechanical,preferred Science/engineering coursework (Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics, Dynamics) Demonstrated experience designing mechanical elements and analyzing performance Strong problem-solving skills Ability to travel to other local facilities, approximately 10% Hardworking and enthusiastic personality Job Competencies:
